87 government employees in Ebonyi State have been suspended by Governor Francis Nwifuru for failing to attend an official event. Commissioners, senior special assistants, special assistants, and permanent secretaries are among those who have been suspended.
They were suspended for failing to attend an important government function, according to a statement the governor issued on Monday night that was signed by his spokesperson, Monday Uzor. According to GLOBALGISTZNG, Mr. Uzor stated that the impacted officials would continue on a one-month working absence without pay.
He listed 25 commissioners, 14 senior special assistants, 24 special assistants, and 22 permanent secretaries as those affected by the governor’s directive.
The statement states that the suspension takes effect immediately and that the officials suspended cannot sign any official documents during that time. It was instructed to the commissioners to hand over to their respective permanent secretaries.
"The Lieutenant Governor of Ebonyi State, Hon. According to the statement, "For failing to attend an important government function, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has directed that the underlisted government functionaries proceed on a one-month working suspension without salary.
" Mr. Uzor emphasized that the governor maintains his determination to ensure that all government employees uphold the highest standards of conduct and dedication to serving Ebonyi State's citizens.
