Operatives from the Yobe State Police Command successfully rescued a two-year-old boy who had been kidnapped in Potiskum and apprehended a 24-year-old suspect connected to the crime.
SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command's Public Relations Officer, reported on Thursday in Damaturu that the child was taken on July 31, with his father, Mohammed Ishayaku, receiving a ransom demand of N2 million from the abductors.

Following thorough investigations, police arrested Abdullahi Aliyu from Kakuri, Kaduna, who was found to have a history of similar offenses in other states.
Yobe's Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, praised the operatives for their prompt action and reiterated the command's commitment to combating criminal activities throughout the state.
He also urged parents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, emphasizing the command's dedication to protecting the lives and property of residents.
