Former Senate President David Mark officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and completed decades of ties with the party he found. Mark, who has played an important role in the design of the PDP since its establishment, announced his resignation in a letter dated June 27th.
The development follows a recent appointment as one of the interim guides of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in favour of a coalition showing changes in Nigeria's developing political landscape.
In his return letter directed at PDP leadership in Benue Province, Otukpo District 1, Mark cited the party's deep leadership crisis and the unforgettable difference as the reason for his departure.
"The incompatible differences in PDPs have paused the public and made them a shadow of their former self," he said. Speaking about his loyalty and contributions to PDP over the years, Mark said:
I bring you and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Otukpo District 1, and in a broader sense, the whole of Benue and Nigeria. "They may remember that I remained firmly over the years and deeply committed to the ideals of the PDP. I declared, I am a party of many Nigerian elections, I have reclaimed, reconciliated, again taking off." However, he complained that recent internal conflicts have seriously undermined the party. After extensive consultations, families, political allies and strict employees came. He explained the next political step.
I have decided to become part of the collective effort to save our country and the preservation of our hard-earned democracy," he said.
