| SIMI AND HER DAUGHTER ADEJARE |
An award wining Nigerian singer Simi has voiced her displeasure about how people frequently call her daughter ''Duduke'' Instead of her name Adejare .
It should be noted that the name was originated from the tittle of one her song she released during her daughter's pregnancy .
The singer revealed that although the nickname may come from a place of love and admiration, but she finds it inappropriate and misleading since it's not her daughter's real name.
'' People call my daughter Duduke which I don't like . it doesn't mean anything'' Simi said while addressing the issue in a video shared on X on Tuesday
She clarified that ''Duduke'' wasn't a name , but simple a rhythm used to convey emotions in one her song. ''As in if it means something good..... it is just a beat'' she explained.
Simi acknowledged that the intentions behind nickname may not be harmful, adding , ''I get it , its coming from a good place and I try not to react''
Despite this the singer made it clear that she prefer people refer to her daughter by her name , Adejare rather than a song tittle that holds no personal meaning the child.
