The National Youth Service Corps has urged prospective corps members who will be deployed to various states for the 2025 Batch 'B' stream 1 orientation exercise not to travel to the orientation camp until late at night.
During a Tuesday interview with journalists in the state, Jacob Unogwu, the scheme's Public Relations Officer in Bauchi State, made the call. Unogwu reiterated that the scheme has repeatedly frowned on late-night journeys for the safety and security of the corps members.
He equally stated that the registration of the 1,700 prospective corps members deployed to the state will commence on July 30 and end at midnight on July 31 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo, in the Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

Unogwu explained that the orientation exercise would end on August 19 and the swearing-in ceremony for the prospective corps members would take place on August 1. He stated, "Only after being adequately certified to be genuine graduates would prospective corps members be permitted entry into the camp."
As part of security measures to prevent intrusion or impersonation, the corps members would undergo discreet screening. The corps members have been informed of the registration dates and are urged to strictly adhere to all camp rules and regulations.
“Defaulters will be sanctioned in accordance with the scheme’s extant rules.”
In addition to adhering to the camp's acceptable dress codes and being on time, the PRO warned prospective corps members that breaking the rule would result in punishment.
