His death comes a few days after the passing of ex-Super Eagles captain and goalkeeper, Peter Rufai.
Waobikeze was well-known for his powerful left foot and impressive ball control, which earned him the nickname "Babaoo" from friends and family.
Though he played cameo roles for the Super Eagles due to strong competition in the squad, he left an indelible mark in Nigeria’s domestic football, featuring for Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, BCC Lions of Gboko, and Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland FC).
